K.N. Tambalyan

Hello and welcome to my austere website. I am, if I may say so, excited that you are here. Feel free to look around. I hope to fill this place with trinkets, doodads and whatnots like all the other authors do. It’s a work in progress. Again, welcome.

About me.

You would like to know about me? I’m flattered. Well, for starters, let’s go through my impressive edyukashon credentials.Hmmmm. Well, ok, so I went to a budgeting class once. That didn’t work out so well.Or maybe I can tell you about my parents, who whisked me away to their dig site in Kathmandu to teach me about culture. That didn’t happen — I have no parents. I’m an orphan. …No I’m not. Maybe I can just tell you why I write.I love fantasy worlds. They provide such an escape. Most of all I love myths and legends — ancient fantasy, I’d call it, except it was religion to the people then. And I don’t want to get cancelled by ancient Sumerians. What I love about them is that they’re unblinking. They tell you a story, and either you buy it or you don’t — it’s going to keep going regardless. Thor sitting on a boat, fishing up the serpent that holds the world together… wait, what? Exactly. The physics, the logic — those only apply to people. They don’t apply to gods and their champions. They want to tell you a story. They won’t stop to describe the magic — wouldn’t be magic if they did. They rarely stop to tell you how a person feels. It’s “bring your own emotions” night at the myth retelling. Besides, emotions are overrated; there’s not much to feel when you’re being devoured by your own father. We are part of the story. That’s why I love them.I tried my best to capture that feeling. The guy who wrote Beowulf says I came close — we met at a seance. I hope I did. Thank you for giving it a try. Hopefully more to come.

Ahhhh! I’ve been expecting you

I can sense that you are wanting to contact me. To be honest, I’m slightly low on mana at the moment, so if you’d be so kind to fill out the form below, I promise to get back to you either through the ether or, more likely, by email. Thanks!

Thanks.

You watch in awe as a raven flies into the distance. You clasp your hands in hope. Soon, your message will—Oof. Was that a hawk? You watch as the hawk carries the raven that carries your message into the distance.
